I would like to formally request nominations to represent Scotland in next year’s International Events.
The nominations process is being started earlier than normal this year as I want to give anglers time to consider the financial implications of the selection so that they can plan ahead. Also, due to changes in the funding process the extra time will also those selected to actively engage in fund raising activities.
In the past few years we have increased the size of the squad, introducing new anglers to great effect in the Celtic Cup and Sensas Challenge. This is something that I am keen to continue to do. Indeed, with the continuing success of the International Team leading to an increase in the number of events we are invited to field team in, it is essential.
The events we are planning to compete in during 2012 are:
- March (exact date tbc) –Sensas Challenge, England – 5 man team departing Thursday and returning Sunday PM after the match.
- 4/5th August- Celtic Cup, Inniscarra Lake, Co. Cork Republic of Ireland -7 man team leaving evening of Tuesday 31st July returning Monday 6th August
- 8/9th September- World Championships, Czech Republic – 6 man squad leaving Saturday 1st September returning Monday 10th
- September (tbc)- Sensas Challenge, France- 4 man team leaving Wednesday returning Sunday/ Monday
Nominations for other International Events including the Juniors will be asked for at a later date.
